A word from the Director, Ally Baker:
"Ah, time for rehearsals to begin at last and the first read-through of the script: always a thrilling moment for those involved in the writing and plotting of the show, though sometimes the satisfaction of hearing the words coming from the mouths of real people (rather than off the page) is offset by the anxiety as prized jokes and witticisms elicit groans or, worse, no response at all. Still, blame the actors for that: nothing 15 or so rehearsals can’t sort out! The atmosphere was very positive and happy; our warm-up rendition of Stand By Your Man was not bad at all; many of the characters are already detectable, finding their feet and their personalities. I can see a lot of the show in my imagination, even without costumes, lights, music and moves. It is such an engrossing process each year: may this 4th production be as fun as the previous 3, if not more so."
And this is how it all turned out... from Persia to the Wild West, and Twanky's Bar..
